Bidding on Raids

Postby Inanna » Sun Jul 06, 2014 3:24 am

When more than one player bids the same amount the item will be decided by a ‘random’. The person doing the loot will ask bidders to random a certain number and the winner is determined from that random.

When bidding on an item you must be of a level that can use the item - so, whoever is getting that item (you, an alt, a gift) MUST be able to use the item.

You CANNOT bid on behalf of anyone else (another player).

You CAN bid on an item and ‘gift’ that item to another player, including an alt as long as they are of a level that can use that item (see 2nd rule – the dkp will be deducted from the person who bid (not the person getting the gift).

You CANNOT ‘random’ for another person – if you bid on an item you must random for it yourself.

Items that are randomed only cannot be gifted to another player (ie; trophies, opening chests, etc).

Upbidding & sniping - if the item is bid up and there is only one bid (for example to 500dkp), then someone else bids within the last 10 secs (also to 500dkp), the first bidder will be allowed to upbid. This is to avoid sniping in the last few seconds.

Bidding on items is allowed by players in the ‘sit out’ group – however, players must be at the zone entrance and ready to accept a dz add and zone in immediately on winning the bid.

Players in the ‘sit out’ group cannot random on ‘random only’ items such as trophies, opening chests, etc.
If you have a question about the bids ask in AH channel or directly to an officer.

If you are late to a raid (so it has already commenced) you cannot bid on items at the end of that raid. If you then stay for the next raid you may bid on items dropped during that raid.

When the chest is at 5 mins and under no outside bids from the sit-out group are allowed due to time limitations.

FFA spells are 1 per person unless otherwise stated by the officer doing the loot.

NOTE: the followig is not a rule as such but time is extremely tight for loot bidding and distribution as there is a timer on the chests – therefore please be smart about bidding so that bids are not delayed… AH bidding mantra: BID LIKE YOU MEAN IT!

Which brings us to the 30 second timer...

When items are being bid the 30sec / 20sec /10sec / STOP timer is just a guide. We do not time 30 seconds exactly and on tier 3 and 4 raids in ROF for example when there is a ton of loot to get through (approx 15 items in 30 mins which is the timer) we have to go very fast so the '30 sec timer' is just used as a rule of thumb and might in fact only take 15 to 20secs through the countdown. This is necessary so that we don't run out of time and have loot rot. Hope everyone understands the necessity.
